IT Resources & Comfort Tools
This page is a calm starting point, not a to-do list. Everything here is optional.
You can pick one thing, do that, and call it enough. None of these links will sign
you up for anything automatically.

How to Use These Resources
You don’t have to work through all of this. These steps are meant to keep things small and manageable:
-
Pick one safety item. Start with either the NSA Home Network
Security Guide or the CISA tools page. Choose one or two small
changes you feel okay making, like changing your Wi-Fi password.
-
Do one action, then stop. After you make one change, you’re
allowed to be done for the day. You don’t have to “finish” the whole guide.
-
Use the Command Reference only when needed. If you run into
commands, open the reference in another tab and copy carefully instead of guessing.
-
Plan backups when you’re calm. When the Backup Planning Template
is ready, fill it out during a low-stress moment so future-you has a map when
something goes wrong.

🧩 Password Managers (1Password, Bitwarden, etc.):
Password managers reduce the mental load of remembering everything while improving
security. If you’re not sure which is right for you, we can go over options together
during a support session.
-
🏠 Vendor Router Support Pages:
Most home routers have online manuals and support articles that show where security
settings live. If you know your router brand (for example: Netgear, TP-Link, ASUS,
or your ISP’s model), bookmarking its support page can make future fixes easier.
How Huffle’s Can Help With These
You don’t have to work through any of this alone. Huffle’s IT Services can:
- Walk through the NSA and CISA guidance with you as part of a Security Consultation.
- Help you design a backup plan built around your actual devices and comfort level.
- Advise on home server choices like TrueNAS, Proxmox, or OpenMediaVault.
- Lock down your router and Wi-Fi if vendor documentation feels confusing.
